The Golden Hawks High Performance Centre is pleased to announce the addition of two staff members to the team.
First, we welcome Katie Neil to the HPC staff. Katie is well-known as an OCA official and has many years of coaching experience at the youth and little rock levels. A competitive curler herself, Katie has qualified for the Provincial Senior Championships in 2012. Katie’s role with the HPC will be in the area of recruiting and early talent identification. The coaches and staff of the Golden Hawks Curling High Performance Centre are very pleased to be working with Katie as we move forward.
Second, the Golden Hawks High Performance Centre is pleased to announce the addition of Shawn Mathers to the HPC staff. Shawn comes from a curling background and has a long standing passion for the game. Both of his children, Kerilynn and David, are well-established competitive curlers. Shawn brings considerable experience in the fundraising and sponsorship areas to the HPC team. Shawn’s role will be to develop a funding model through a variety of potential streams to support the Centre’s operations. The staff of the Centre looks forward to working with Shawn as we develop our program offerings in the coming years.
