Shawn Mathers

Shawn Mathers is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University. Following graduation, he spent ten years in Ottawa before returning to Kitchener-Waterloo where he currently resides. Growing up in Waterloo, Shawn was active in many sports but developed a passion for curling when he was in High School. Since then, curling has always been part of his life and that continues, especially given his children’s current involvement with the sport. He also curls on average twice a week himself.

Shawn served as Chair of Sponsorship and Advertising for the 2008 Ontario Men’s Provincial Curling Championship (TSC Stores Tankard) and was also Director of Transportation for the 2007 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Kitchener. He is a past coach with Waterloo Minor Hockey, Waterloo Minor Baseball and Waterloo Minor Girls Softball. He is currently an active member of Westmount Golf & Country Club in Kitchener and also serves on various local Boards and volunteer committees.

Shawn has more than twelve years of progressive fundraising experience with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and achieve results. He looks forward to his role in helping to establish a funding model and revenue streams for the future development and success of the Golden Hawks Curling High Performance Centre.
