HPC hosts first anchor team camp
The Golden Hawks Curling High Performance Centre will be hosting its first anchor team camp the weekend of September 28-29 at the Kitchener-Waterloo Granite Club.
Entitled “The 12 Steps to Success”, the camp will offer the High Performance Centre’s anchor teams instruction in various topics, including sessions on nutrition, pre-shot routines, performance psychology, sweeping, delivery technique, and strategy. Sessions will be conducted by several High Performance Centre coaches and staff, including HPC Director Gary Crossley, Maurice Wilson, and Jill Tracey of Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition, a number of guest instructors have been invited to participate at the camp, including Cindy Bishop, Amy Ballantyne and Denise Davis-Gains.
- Friday, September 28 2012: Sessions begin at 7:00pm sharp and run until 10:15pm that evening.
- Saturday, September 29 2012: Sessions begin at 8:30am and run until 5:45pm.

Hawks Curling HPC welcomes Dr. Jill Tracey
The Golden Hawks Curling High Performance Centre is pleased to welcome Dr. Jill Tracey to the Centre’s coaching staff. Dr. Tracey instructs sport psychology for the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University and will act in a consulting capacity in the critical area of mental skills preparation for high performance athletes.
